Carers provide a great economic benefit to Australia and and invaluable benefit to us as a society.

The economic value of the informal care provided by unpaid family carers is huge.  In 2005, the annual ‘replacement value’ of informal care exceeded $30 billion.  Five years later in 2010, the value increased to exceed $40 billion per annum - 33% higher than in 2005. The growth was driven largely from an ageing population.
